TESTIMONIALS

Dear Mr and Mrs Sower,

Summer in the South of France is a very busy time, I'm sorry to write to you just now. Camille enjoyed her time with D family. Mr and Mrs D were very kind with her and their daughter E a good friend. The time in school was also a good experience and the Headmaster took care of her. We are completely satisfied with your service and we hope that it will be positive for Camille at school. If we send Camille again to England, we will certainly contact you.

We would like to express our appreciation to your organisation and the host family. We know our son is exceedingly immature for his age but we thought at his age a work experience programme would be much better than a language course. He came back really happy because of the experience and because of the host family as well. Thank you for everything.

On behalf of my wife and myself, I want to give you a sincere congratulations for the very well organised Youth Exchange Service. These two weeks were a new and fantastic experience for Jose. He was very pleased to get some work experience in store and he was very happy to live with his host family. He enjoyed the hospitality of his hosts and the good relationship with them. Jose told us that he even learned to play snooker!
Finally, we will be contacting you in the future for future placements either or Jose or for his younger sister or brother.

We are the parents of Rut. We are very proud of Rut and were pleased to receive your letter with opinions of Y.E.S., work placement and host families.
We think that it was a very good experience that will be "wonderful" in her future. It was her first experience in the "work world" It was also her first experience of travelling alone. It was her first stay in contact 24 hours a day with British people - all the things which happened to her during her 4 week stay were new. Thanks for your help - we hope that she wants to repeat the experience next year
JM and E - parents of Rut from Catalonia, Spain who undertook one month's work experience in Shropshire June-July 2010

July 2010.

B returned home today. He is very satisfied with his stay. We found him changed - more communicative.
He was particularly happy about the efforts of his hosts to help him to communicate and to express himself in English. At the airport he bought a book of 900 pages IN ENGLISH - it is really big progress! He now has English contacts on facebook. Thank you very much for your efficiency.

Valentin was really enthusiastic about his stay. His host family was very nice and friendly with him. He liked The Priory School and made a lot of friends and he improved his English. Xavier has had a great experience in Shrewsbury. Last Saturday night when we collected him at the airport he was very happy and so were his colleages. Their parents were there too and we talked about the programme and we all agree that it is serious, very well arranged and supervised. Both the families and the people at the work placement were helpful, respectful and kind to them. They have learnt a lot!!!
These experiences help them to grow and mature.
My son and Nil said the two weeks went by too fast and they would like to repeat the experience.
Many thanks for all the information you gave Xavier about Shrewsbury. I also enjoyed looking through it and knowing things about Shropshire. We hope to visit your county in the future.
With our best wishes,

Remi travelled safely back. He is REALLY pleased with everything, his hosts and their neighbours, the school and all he did there and the other pupils he met. The warm welcome you gave him and the way everything was organised. In other words, ready to go back any time. Thanks a lot for your help and for offering Remi the ideal conditions for an excellent stay in England.

We have all got back safe and sound (if a little tired) and want to thank you very much for making this wonderful trip possible for all of us. All the students, the teachers and the drivers enjoyed themselves thoroughly. Your host families were brilliant, lots of our students did not want to leave so soon (Me neither.)

Our names are AJ and AT. You may remember us, we had unpaid work experiences in July 2007 and 2008 in Telford and Shrewsbury and were hosted with Mr BD and Mrs GK and Mr and Mrs L. We had a wonderful experience working in Shropshire - it was great! We are writing to ask if you offer work experience in other areas of England or Ireland or any English speaking countries? Anyway, we would like to say that our experience was absolutely fantastic and we are considering the idea of coming back again this summer.

French reveal the secret of success: English

For generations the French have fiercely guarded their language against the 'horreurs anglais.' However, on 2 September 2008, France's Education Minister admitted for the first time that the secret to success is speaking better English. Xavier Darcos claimed poor English is now a 'handicap' because all international business is conducted in the language, and said French schools would offer extra lessons during holidays. He also admitted that, because of globalisation, very few people outside France will be able to speak French in the future.

Dear Mr and Mrs Sower,

Letter written to Valentina Fantini at British European Centre, Milan

'Volevo ringraziarla per la professionalita'e la gentilezza dimostrata. Andrea e Davide sono rimasti entusiasti della loro esperienza in UK.
Trovo che l'inserimento nel lavoro in una situazione protetta, lontano ma non troppo da altri Italiani sia veramente una buona soluzione. In questo modo hanno dovuto arrangiarsi da soli ma non si sono sentiti troppo soli perche' sapevano che nel fine settimana si sarebbero incontrati.

Grazie ancora'

Just a week now since we left Shrewsbury and it remains a very good memory. I was very pleased to see your country. I now understand why my son, Gregory, is such a fan of Shrewsbury and Shropshire - its people are friendly and welcoming. It was a pleasure to meet the host families where he stayed. Thank you very much.

Mother of Gregory Laforge aged 19 who undertook work experience in Shropshire for six weeks in 2007 and six weeks in 2008. August 2008

Thank you for your letter. We are very proud you confirmed that our son, Guillem did a very good job in his work placement. We are also very satisfied by the level of English he has reached. We are very grateful to his host family, the staff at his work placement in the leisure centre and of course, your organisation for arranging everything for Guillem. Our son really enjoyed his stay and meeting so many people.

We would like to thank you for your selection of Eve's host family and place of work. Eve was really delighted by her stay. Mrs Farelli was extremely caring with Eve and Eve really appreciated this. She spent a lot of fun time but also found a lot of occasions to talk with her on many and various subjects. The team at the castle (work placement) was also very kind, friendly and helpful. I know Eve is very energetic and adaptable but she found that the team were wanting to integrate her in the daily activities at the castle.

Eve has made terrific improvements in her English speaking and we are particularly glad that she said the most important lesson she got was to be no longer inhibited because of her fear of making mistakes.

Eve said she will look forward to coming again to the UK with Youth Exchange Service. We will see next year if we can send Eve over for another stay.

Again, thank you and best regards.

I would like to thank you very much for my work experience at the tennis and leisure centre. I really enjoyed it and I believe that it was great for my English and also for my personal experience. Both host families who have welcomed me were very nice and kind with me. I hope and I really wish that I will be able to repeat that work experience again, probably next summer. Best regards and thank you again.
