Accommodation

Youth Exchange Service consider the choice of host perhaps THE most important element in guaranteeing an enjoyable stay in Shropshire.
We are delighted that hosts approach us to join our register and each one is visited personally and assessed to ensure they have a genuine interest in hosting an overseas visitor. Visitors will usually stay in the county town Shrewsbury, Wellington, Oswestry, central Telford or Ironbridge, though Youth Exchange Service has host families throughout Shropshire and across the nearby border of Wales in Powys and in Staffordshire.
Christine and Peter have three daughters and three grandsons – each one has been hosted by families overseas and we are very conscious of the importance of selecting the right host families. Our criterion is quite simple: would we be happy for our daughter or grandson to stay with this family?
Choosing the right host helps make sure each visitor has an enjoyable stay, improves their English greatly and returns home happy to recommend Youth Exchange Service to friends.
Visitors might sometimes share a family with another student who will be, apart from exceptional requests, of another nationality.
At all times – 24 hours a day – Youth Exchange Service is on call to deal with any problems or queries that may arise for hosts or visitors.
